Item Description
Up now for sale is a lens that I just got back from repair. The only thing that was wrong with it was that the focusing and zooming were *extremely* stiff -- really, unusable. No damage of any kind to the lens, so it seems like the lubrication just wasn't up to par with lasting 20 or so years without gunking up. The lens was fully disassembled, cleaned, relubricated, and collimated, and given a clean bill of health. It now zooms and focuses very nicely. There is still some resistance around the wide end when zooming (nothing to do with focusing), but I'm pretty sure that's just due to the lens' size. It's perfectly good to use, whereas before it could barely move at all.

If you're not familiar with this lens, you're in for a treat. It offers a 100-500mm range with a, comparatively, wide aperture range of f/5.6-7.1, not f/5.6-8 or f/8-12 like some others. The image quality is also excellent for the range it covers. Very good sharpness even at 500/7.1, with beautiful bokeh considering it's a refractive and not a reflex lens. I am hoping to take some more pictures today, to help prove my claims.

On top of that, it is the much rarer KA auto-aperture version of this model of lens. This allows automatic exposure calculation and automatic aperture stop-down. Very easy to just zoom, focus, and click, and not have to worry about adjusting the aperture and pressing the green button. This lens does NOT have a "Ricoh Pin", nor an extended lever baffle, and will mount and dismount on any Pentax camera with ease.

Here are pictures of the lens:

The lens comes with front and rear caps and a UV filter. There is no wear to note, it looks basically new. An awesome super-tele zoom lens for a beginning wildlife photographer!

Here are some sample pictures I just took on this dim, overcast day.

All taken at various apertures and focal lengths, but mostly towards 500mm and close to wide-open. This lens kind of gives images a film look all by itself!

Sure thing! Just about 1.5kg even in weight (3lb, 6.8oz), and about 30cm long (11.75"). It also has a tripod collar built into it, that you can see in the pictures.

Also, pictures from the lens have been added to the original post!
