[SOLD] Pentax SMC K 35mm/2 35mm F2 Rare Collector's Item, w/ Metal Hood (Worldwide)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Pentax SMC K 35/2 35mm F2 Rare Collector's Item, w/ Metal Hood

Asking Price
$330usd

Item Location
Singapore

Item Description
Selling one of my collections to buy something else. Lens looks excellent, near mint condition, only very few sign of use on the aperture ring which is hard to notice. Glass is mint w/ no scratch/mark/fungus or whatsoever. Comes w/ matching Pentax front and rear caps for that era. I'll also include a matching screw-on metal hood w/ a front clip-on cap for easy use and better protection. Aperture blades are dry and clean. Aperture and focusing rings work like new.

This is a very rare lens, and it's even rare to get one copy in such good condition. This is the early K version w/ 8 elements in 7 group, not the later M or A version. The K version is known to be much better built than the later M/A versions. Selling it to get something else.

Here are some photos of the actual lens selling:

Wow, I am so tempted but unfortunately Swedish tax and duty will make a huge impact as the lens is outside EU.

Kind regards

Thanks guys. FA31 is a great lens, but if talking about manual focus, the feeling is totally different

Incredible that this lens has not been sold yet.
In better times I would probably have splurged.

Buy it, now

Cheers,

Luc

I'm dying here! My mouse finger is twitching!

But I don't have $300 right now

Maybe if I sell some stuff tomorrow and it is still here . . .

Thanks Luc and Paul. It's a great lens indeed

---------- Post added 03-28-2010 at 09:29 PM ----------

This is one of my favorite lenses on film SLR cameras, but I seldom used it on digital. Today I brought it along when we took our kids to the zoo. Took a few quick snaps w/ it, some photos turned out pretty okay. Here I'd like to post some.

This first one was shot wide open on my dad. Seems he wasn't very happy about me letting this lens go:

The following two were taken when we were watching a show. This beautiful lady sat on my left, thanks to the quiet shutter sound of K7, I managed to take these photos w/ my camera in front of me while the lens pointed to the left, kind like taking photos w/o looking at the viewfinder. First one wide open:

Second one took at F2.8:

Here is 100% crop on her eyes:

Pretty cool, aren't they?

---------- Post added 03-28-2010 at 09:32 PM ----------

My son had some fun there in the Zoo:

The lens can focus down to 35cm, pretty good for some closeups:

Lovely photos frank... seems like a shame to sell this classic in pristine condition.
