Recently checked and serviced Pentax DA * 16-50 - $700 shipped

For sale is my DA* 16-50mm f/2.8 lens purchased new in May '09. I recently sent the lens to Pentax to have it looked at for free since the warranty is set to expired soon. They wound up replacing the SDM while they checked all the specs. I'll include the service center's report for the buyer. The lens works great and is in superb condition. I wish I didn't have to sell the lens, and I probably buy it again soon, but I need to cover some bills. I'm just looking at this sale as a small loan until I rebuy the lens in a couple of months.

Sale includes lens, front and rear caps, lens hood, soft case, box, paperwork.

Did the SDM work fine before you sent it in for check-ups? It would really show something about the motor if they ended up replacing the SDM even if it's working fine before you sent it in. Just wondering.

I did notice a little squeaking from time to time, but the SDM never died on me. Perhaps it was a precautionary move by the service center as they've gotten their QC a bit better. I tested the AF in a variety of conditions and it's works. I just don't want this to turn into another SDM thread.
