[SOLD] Sigma 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 APO (Aus) (Worldwide)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Sigma 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 APO (Aus)

Asking Price
A$500 but open to offers
SOLD to Mike L for $450 posted.

Item Location
Sydney, Australia

Item Description
For sale is my Pentax mount Sigma 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 lens. I got it 2nd hand and it's in good, but used condition; there's a few light scratches here and there on the lens body, but optically it is fine. There's lens creep if you have the lens pointed downwards, but otherwise, it's a good telephoto lens to get you out to 400mm.

Included:
- Sigma 135-400mm F4.5-5.6 APO Lens
- Sigma front lens cap
- generic rear lens cap
- 77mm UV filter
- tripod collar
- lens hood
- Sigma padded carry case (there's a few specs of paint on the bottom of the case, which was already there when I got it)

Pickup/Delivery available in the Sydney CBD. This will be preferred over posting the item.
I will also post the item to Australia and overseas, but please be aware that due to the distances involved, postage costs may be a bit on the high side.

I have the same lens Mike, and I'm sure that you'd love it.
This moose was taken with it, wide open at 400mm

no edits, other than re-sized.

Same lens, 400mm f19

again no edits other than re-sized.

I have some shots with the same lens on a film camera, if your interested in seeing them.

Here's a few:

100% crop of the above. There was actually a bit of heat haze that day, so that would've affected the sharpness by a bit.

I've found the main issue is that at the longer end, it's hard to get a sharp shot unless you've got some way to support the lens

Thanks for the samples Stu, they give me a good idea of what the lens is capable of and seem to concur with the generally positive reviews I've read.

Thanks for the samples James, even though Stu posted some samples above I was interesting in seeing what this particular copy of the lens produced.

Apparently he spent his money on that horse instead of a telephoto lens like this Sigma 135-400 to get as close as possible to get shots of the airplanes :-)

Ahahaha, unfortunately the truth is quite boring really: there's actually a little beach just out of frame, and some horse trainers take their horses out there for a little swim:
