I don't get it. I'd take any standard zoom (16-45, 18-55 etc) over a superwide for a wedding.

I take a super wide with me for shots inside the limousine. That's all it gets used for.

Stick with lenses in and around somewhat wide to short telephoto and 95% of anything I've ever shot at a wedding is covered.
There is one church here that can benefit from a very long lens, I've used a 300mm (on 35mm film) on a few occasions there.
With digital, I use the 15 and 21 rarely, the 31 mostly, and the short teles (55/1.4, 70 or 77) are purpose lenses, except for the formal portraits where they are goto lenses.

You can always zoom with your feet too

No, not necessarily. At a wedding I recently did (all by myself without asking questions on here first - aren't I brave?

) I was restricted to two spots where I could stand during the ceremony, no feet zooming at all, lots of lens zooming though luckily.

well the big event is tomorrow, the weather is gonna be perfect. I scouted the location and looks like its gonna be beautiful. Thank you everyone for the information provided!

Im going in with two pentax k20s
one with a 28-70 2.8
and a 50-135 2.8
I will also have a 540 flash for the indoor reception if needed.

and at request im bringin a Nikon n2000 with a 28-80 3.9 to take some black and white film shots for the bride to play with in the darkroom.

You might have some trouble with 28mm being your widest lens.

And you WILL need the flash for the indoor reception.
