Please help - I've deleted all my holiday photos ! :O(

It's the last day of my holiday and I was just messing about with my Pentax Optio L50 (may have been something to do with format - I can't remember) and I've accidentaly deleted all my photos (there are now no images to view) Absolutely gutted - can anybody help please

First, take no pictures now and do nothing to your card like formatting it. It is often quite possible to recover the files using a computer and dedicated software. I'm sure there are better ones, but the one I've used on my Mac is free but a little complicated: Testdisk/Photorec. Others will probably recommend easier ones soon.

if you havent done a full format, it should be possible to recover almost all files from your card. Make a google search for "recover files software" or something like that and you are going to find a lot of sw which can recover your files, there are some for free. Wish luck

I'll give you one that's free and I have used it on my PC and it works great. I have friends who swear by this program and its usefullness.

It's called Recuva

I have retrieved pictures from a formatted SD card as well. It's more important not to write anything to the card now - even if formatted.

also try [although not free] image rescue 3 from Lexar the car makers
Lexar, USB flash drive, flash memory card, digital film, card reader
this works well on all cards.

Here's one more. I've used this one with great success.

PC Inspector FILE RECOVERY

It's free and works very well.

I recovered over 200 .jpg images that I inadvertantly deleted using this.

I use PhotoRescue and it can even recover formated files. It's pretty good.

Used both Recuva and PhotoRescue, both worked fine. You should be able to recover nearly everything.
