Tips for Labor Day.

I need advice/suggestions on how to photograph the social history of Labor Day. Go ahead and send those ideas, because I am not coming up with much myself.

Wikipedia will give you a pretty good start....Google will do the rest!
Like most people, it is just another day of "vacation" for me, but since I am mostly retired, it means less than it used to.
Regards!

I'll just contribute this:

Labor Day means nothing in temperate and almost tropical climates like where I live in Florida. Same thing for Arizona, southern New Mexico, most of California, and other places:

In other states where winter and snow will soon be coming, it signifies the end of summer. For me and others, it signifies nothing. The holiday itself holds no meaning at all--it's just a day off.

Memorial Day in May at least has a purpose behind it, honoring our fallen war heroes. But again, it's still more about celebrating the BEGINNING of summer, which means little to those of us in Florida.

Maybe a little more respect for those that labor across the nation would be forthcoming if all the trash men/garbage collectors, phone line repairmen, electrical line repairmen, auto mechanics, and hospital laborers decided to just "hang it up"?
Regards!

From Wikipedia:

"Labour Day or Labor Day is an annual holiday to celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers. Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest."

Others see it as the last holiday of the summer.

I appreciate the advocacy...but I could have used 10 hours for rest....I get tired fast.....10hours for play...I love to play! .......and four hours for work is plenty for me!

I think we need to go to my plan....it would instantly give us twice as many jobs! And....we could all take more photos!
Regards!
