Wanna See Something?

A fellow poster at Flickr posted this link and it is chocked full of some fine photos from various Pentax Lenses, as listed by the lens.
It sort of made me feel inadequate, which in reality, I guess I am, but it also inspired me to use what I have better. There is often a lot of searching for the "perfect" glass that will make us better shooters, but it is obvious from viewing these that there is defining truth in it being as much or more the shooter as it is the glass.
Best Regards! & Enjoy!

The pictures are awesome, but there obviously enhanced with photoshop or lightroom, This means that I have to work on my eye, and have to work on my post-processing as well.

Good collection there.
'Iris' in the DA 35 macro gallery is just stunning.
But yes, no doubt there is heavy PP done on just about all those images - all of which are well suited and bring out the best in the shots.

I know there is a number of those that decry post processing...and for the life of me I can't understand why? It is apparent in many ....or most...of these fine shots that the processing plays a key role in the end result.
Although I am not the best at processing, I feel fortunate that we have such great tools available to us and consider it almost as much skill as shooting itself to master them.

I also noticed one in the DA 35 Macro section that reminded me of one of mine......except it was much better. Still, I like mine and wonder if a better processor could give it some "pop"?
Best Regards!

Try some aggresive cropping, I think it would help you out in the "pop effect" You know what they say: The best friends of a photographer are scissors and a rubbish bin.

Very true, I've extracted some nice pictures from some otherwise very blah shots.

Hi Rupert, think you did a fine job, be hard to improve in difficult lighting conditions
and bring out detail as you have. The printer in me is curious how image prints
if possible.Be hard to show us,but might give you a few thoughts.

Funny you asked....I do recall printing this shot, and it was best on Epson Matte paper. I tried the High Gloss, and it lost detail in the "shine". I print a lot of photos on my R1800 or my favorite for 8x10...an old R200 that is just superb on color prints.

Regards& Thanks!
