Shake Reduction while shooting on a tripod.

Hi! I picked up my first D-SLR (actually, my first ever SLR) a few weeks ago. And I'm really really loving it.

In line with this thread, I was wondering what the reasoning behind turning the SR off during tripod-mounted shoots is. Are there vibrations that the SR will tend to over compensate for when the camera is on something as stable as a tripod (or any other stable surface)? I've tried a few shoots (mostly landscape and cityscape) with the SR both on and off, and I can't really say I've noticed a huge difference in the two.
