Winter Photo Slump :(

Anyone feel the same way? I've been going out shooting and I haven't found any inspiration. The days are too short and no one is out for street photos. Anyone got any ideas?

Try something other than street shots. Zoo, museum, churches, macro?

I'm an outdoors shooter. Here, in the Midwest, the winter brings some of the best light of the year. The sun takes a long time to get high in the sky. On clear or partly clear mornings, and afternoons for that matter, the light is fantastic for a long time. In the summer the sun rises fast, and the light gets harsh quick. I get inspired in the winter and bogged down in the summer. Funny how we all see so differently.

I'm in the same boat - by the time I get home from school, it's practically sunset, but I have no time to get to any good spot to view the sunset, and by the time I can drive out to where I'd like to go for a photowalk, it's totally dark out. I spose the approaching holidays can be helpful with that...

Well for one, I did a whole fall color deal in November and now with the holidays there is just not enough time on the weekends to do much in the creative mode. But I've been able to get a little done by carrying my camera everywhere. I'm really biding my time until January.

Same here. These days the sun rises at ~9.30 and sets at 3pm here and I've been working the whole time it's up. But yesterday was my last day of work this year so maybe I'll get some shots soon

Winter is a great time to shoot at the zoo, especially at the indoor exhibits like an aquarium, herpatarium, or aviary.

I shoot a lot during the winter. It's the best time of year to hike without overheating and carrying a gallon of water along. As mentioned, the light is great for much longer periods. Beyond that, sensors perform better when cold.

same boat for me leave for work and it's dark and buy the time i'm home at the other end it's dark. my wife now has weekends off with me so i no longer have as much free time to get out and shoot on the weekends (i had been filling in some time walking home) It's nice having her around but we're going to have to come to a personal time agreement so i can escape to my photography addiction (she cringes when i grab a camera on the way out the door with her. she likes the results just doesn't want to be there when they are produced

Same thing here. I work normal business hours so I come into work and leave work in the dark right now. Weekends are the only days to shoot outdoors available light so shooting really takes a back seat during the winter. Add to that the hustle and bustle of the season and the shot counter has really had a break the last month or so.

But I'm stoked about skiing with my camera (opening this weekend), and I'm looking for a carrier that will hold my K-7 and 50-135, maybe that will be my wife's Christmas Present to me.....

Skiing can provide some great shots. Exposure can be a little challenging on the bright sunny days and contrast tough on the overcast ones (The moguls used to very tough on those flat days much harder to pick your path) haven't really skied in years used to do it for a living and competed in freestyle in the 70's

Outdoor nudes.

Female only, and 18 to 25.

that works for coral springs but i'm guessing it might be hard to get the models up here at 15 degrees Fahrenheit and below
