I'm considering a 365 project myself.

I've been trying to do a 30 day project for the month of December but have missed a few days. That makes me wonder if I'd actually be able to make the 365 goal...

My goals have yet to be written down for this coming year, but they mostly are business goals.

Ubuntu, we have a challenge here on PF which would probably suit you well. Check it out here. I've done a previous one and it was a lot of fun. The fact that you're doing this along with 20 other people really motivates you to keep going.

365 days... haha. A few years ago I had a bet with friends that I couldn't surf every single day for a year (whilst working 2 jobs and going to uni full time). During that period I went to ridiculous lenghts to get in the water daily - I once surfed at 2am in the morning becasue I was flying overseas at 6am and crossing the date line, then paddled out at 10pm at the new destination, but on the next calendar day. I surfed in cyclones, thunderstorms, gail force winds, floods, big waves, small waves, perfect waves, terrible waves, sharky waves, before sunrise and after sunset, all over a bet for a case of beers. I got to day 348 and stepped on a broken glass bottle (at the beach, ironically) and required stitches which put a halt to my epic journey.

I might not have been successfull, but looking back I had so much fun, and went to extreme lengths just to do the thing I truly love. I wish now that I had better documented my experiences with a daily photo - perhaps 2011 is the year I'll complete a 365 surfing challenge, documented with a 365 photo challenge!

Thanks for bringing that to my attention! I didn't realize that anyone was doing this... I'm in for January!

Hummm...Completing my gear by buying a long telephoto with AF (I am looking for FA*400).
Trying the Velvia 50 (I am completely in love with Oleg Novikov use of this film).
Printing more (it is time to decorate those blank walls).
Use more the lenses I don't use much, ie the Nokton 58, the FA77 and the Apo-Lanthar 180.
Travelling more to take more pictures.
Sounds more like vague wishes than anything precise.
I may do "a month in Velvia" during spring.

My resolutions for 2011: Go away and shoot more, with more of my lenses and cameras: digital, 135, 220, etc. (I feel like I'm stuck in a pit with good gear and nowhere to use it.) But that may require a bit of fortune: sell a house, get an inheritance, rob a few mini-marts. Until then, sell and buy more stuff. And hack more non-PK lenses until they fit. And hack a P&S to take C-mount glass. And build a darkroom in my 1/2 bath, one that's easily stashed.

No grand project is planned, just mini-projects, with more undoubtedly popping up as time passes. Ad hoc all the way, that's me. Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.

I started a 365 day project this month. I'm not too far into it, but my resolution for 2011 is to see the project through.

A Photo a Day

My photo resolution:

I will remove the 18-55mm kit lens from my bag and use the FA31 exclusively for normal shooting. Back to the days where a 50mm was my only lens (on film)

My Favourite Chrome film bar none (particularly now that Kodachrome is gone for good), Velvia rocks, If you do the month of velvia thing maybe we can do a month of velvia game like the single in series
I'd be up for it (I'd just have to decide 35mm or 120)

Did that mid-year last year with the DA 35 2.8 Ltd. Bought a smaller bag and everything. It is so freaking liberating, I love it.

I think I will try to shoot a roll of film every month thru my SuperProgram. Cost will be minimal, and it will help me think about my shots much more than digital does.

I plan to get off high-center and actually take steps towards selling a set of pictures that I've taken that I believe might have value to a niche market. If successful, I'd like to roll the money over into the purchase of a K5.
