Is there a standard term for this kind of shot?

I thought it was "snap zoom" but that's a video term. This was a builtin effect on the PZ-1 with a power zoom lens...

I don't think there is a standard term for this. As far as I remember, the old books just referred to "Zoom effect" or so.
This one I took at a bicycle race approximatly 30 years ago (sorry, I used Minolta at that time

)

I believe the technical term is... BLUR.

I just checked some old TIME-LIFE LIBRARY OF PHOTOGRAPHY volumes and it's called the zoom effect. Norbert pinned it.

Am si eu o intrebare, daca fac zoom in timp ce.... se poate intampla ceva bad la camera?

Correct. Neither the lens nor the camera can be damaged that way. But the EXIF data may not be quite accurate. I just tested the zoom effect, and the reported focal length was where I began the zoom, not where I ended.
