At least two and duplicates of nearly everything else, failure is not an option on my watch.

i thought about my answer and of course the more accurate answer is as many as i can get by the wife so in addition to the real ones i listed there's usually a lomo or 2 hidden in the bag somewhere

Always in my carry bag: K20D with various lenses; 5mpx Sony DSC-V1 digi P&S; Canon SS80u film P&S.

Often carried: ZX-M with lenses; Kodak or KW 6x9 folders, and/or Ikonta 6x6 folder; Kodak Brownie Twin-20.

Sometimes carried: Minolta FC300-IR (digicam modded for IR); Petri 7s or Yashica GSN RF; K1000 with lenses.

And an old 5mpx Sony DSC-P10 digi P&S is always in my pants pocket, ready for for any no-delay grab shots.

A majority of the time it's just the K-x with the DA40. Sometimes the 50mm or 55mm Tak will accompany the setup.

If it's manual focus day, I'll take the 35mm and 50mm Tak with either one attached.

I usually travel with 2 bodies, but only usually have one on me at a time. Lenses vary depending on my mood and subject matter.

Usually no more than 1 film and 1 digital body. My medium format body usually goes out on its own as it gets pretty bulky to carry alongside a 35mm kit (which means that I need a larger bag instead of one per format).

How many cameras do you carry when travelling and with which lenses?

Just curious, I have two and I carry Sigma 10-20mm and Tamron 70-200mm and wish I could carry one more for my FA35/2

I avoid changing lenses on travel.

Yusuf
K20D & K5. DA*43 & DFA 100mm WR handy, DA*16-50 & 50-135 (no SMC problems to date) on the bodies. Spare batteries for both; a hot day in the Arctic is +5C, it's -36C today. Tripod with bits and pieces.

I can understand the need for carrying more than one camera body but my body just won't hold up to it anymore. As I have grown older, I travel lighter. I try to anticipate what I will need and bring the minimum. If I do carry a second body, it will be a P&S in a pocket.

Actually, my aging knees are doing quite well this winter. I prefer it to be cold and this winter has been that. I have skied or snowshoed at least once a week. Carrying multiple camera bodies comes down to what you are shooting, sometimes it is a necessary thing.

Depends on where I'm going, I have three kits:

Small: film body/wide/normal/tele
Medium: 2 film bodies/2 wide/2 normal/tele
Large: Same as medium + add FE, Macro and super tele.
