Yeah, right!!!

I guess after they retouched OJ to make him look darker, they're scared sh*tless.

But meanwhile, that guy was working for a top-notch pub where the big bucks are..
That was editorial, not PJ.

Ira, thanks for the explanation. I don't own a printer at the moment, but if in the near future I do, or if what I shot gets printed, then I'll have a basis for comparison and go from there.

Apparently the event I covered has been done to death recently (it's an ongoing protest I guess), and the editor was looking for something different. I ended up going inside the building the protest was near and shooting down at them for a little bit- I think it ended up pretty interesting. I'll post them once I can.

It's the photo editor, and it still involved post processing.

I don't understand what you are saying.

You implied it was the editor that made him darker--editor meaning the publication's editor.

But he can't do that himself, so he had to order the photo editor and his underlings to do that.

I'm just saying that for a college paper to poo-poo post processing--when it's the way of the real world--is ridiculous.

Talked to the editor a few hours ago, and they're gonna run one of my shots on the front page! He offered me my own assignment for tomorrow... but I have a class at the time the event is happening. But still, I've got Hockey and then Track and Field finals this weekend. Should be a good time.

Gonna shoot a Nikon D2H and an 80-200 f/2.8 (the thing is a brick, seriously), along with my K20D, I think.

Hockey:

Track and field:

Men's Big Ten Track 2/26/2011 - a set on Flickr

Shooting these two sports events has kinda opened my eyes to ultrasonic motors... even an 8 year old D2H (albeit with a much newer AF-S lens) focuses blazingly fast compared to my pentax bodies in low light. I'll have to seriously consider saving up for a D700/D3... oh boy. For now though, I've got no problems covering news with the gear I've got.

Shot a photo illustration today, and I think it went great. I'll post shots after they run in the paper.
