This is my "artistic attempt" with 55-300.
Time to break out the refractor.

Recommended settings would be; never seem to get it right...? Wishing I had something longer than a 200mm :-(

Here we go. The best I can do this evening, hazy conditions from hell. Not willing to get up at 0300.
This was shot with Orion EON 120 f7.5 ED.

I feel that pain too mate

there was a 50-500 sigma OS in my local paper for $850 Au a few weeks back. like a prat I never bought ....spewing now

liked the haze effect so i thought i'd go for that 'button' moon effect

I'm in the Bay Area CA and it is raining harder than it has in many moons so I will be missing the fun. Can't wait to see some more pics.

Took this one last night with a Sigma 70-200 V2 HSM and the Sigma 1.4x Tele Converter.
F9.5 at 1/30 sec ISO 100 D300s

I am a new member and just got my K-r. I had never used MF or a 300 Sigma lens but here is my picture of the moon over San Diego on Friday night. I have only cropped the picture and not done any enhancements yet.

Well besides having full cloud cover to impede my shots... its harder when my wife took the camera out of town.

It was to much haze to get any good details of the moon, but at least i got this
