I remember hearing about a product like this 10 or 11 years ago and being pretty excited... too bad it did not happen back then. It would have been a nice way to transition into digital.
SiliconFilm: Back for another try?

By the time they got around to releasing a product DSLRs had come to market. All of the problems that existed then would still exist now.

A friend just called this to my attention today. It's pretty neat but I really wouldn't need it on a daily basis. Still, I could use my old, perfectly functional, 100% manual Minolta SRT-200 from 1975.
I don't know about that. If this were real, I can see it getting daily use in my PZ-1.

Think about it, A full frame AF body with 1/8000 shutter speed, 1/250 flash sync. able to use all but WR lenses.

THis would be the perfect thing to use in that case.

I can't see using it in something like a KX or K1000, because the rest of the camera just is not up to it, but......

It would be just the thing to modernize my Retina I folder, Yashica Electro35 GSN, Argus C3 (The Brick), Petri 7s, Oly XA, etc. Hey, I wonder if it would work in a Canon Dial 35 or DemiEE17 or other half-frame 135 cam?

Digitizing your analog camera

not sure if this is a left over April Fool's joke but it certainly is intriguing.

RE-35 | Digital cartridges for analog 35-mm cameras

reportedly will be in 4, 8, 12 MP varieties.

There was talk of a system like this 15 years ago but to my knowledge nothing ever eventuated, Joke or not I'd think something like this could be quite viable.

The issue with such a product is providing a means to couple the cartridge to the camera's shutter release and wind mechanism.

Unfortunately, there is always "coming soon" attribute associated with this idea which never comes
