*ist DL2 + External Flash + Radio Trigger = Problems

I bought one of these inexpensive radio flash triggers off eBay. It works like a charm... except when the camera is in Manual exposure mode. It works fine in P, Av, Tv... but not M. The flash simply refuses to fire.

The flash will fire if it is attached directly to the camera. There's no problem with Manual exposure in that case, but it will not work with the radio trigger.

The particulars:

*ist DL2
Sigma EF-500 DG Super
PT-04 radio trigger

Any suggestions would be most appreciated. How can I force the camera to trigger the flash unconditionally?

what's the sync speed? Cuz the Pentax *Ist series have a sync speed of 1/180 max. Adding the radio trigger is an extra step in the process.

You might need to dial down to 1/100 or lower and check.

Bingo, FotoPete. You nailed it. Much obliged.

1/180th is a too fast, as the shutter curtain is still moving when the flash turns off. 1/125th does the trick.
