Fascinating documents.
I love the way that they mention the image converter tube on the 'Noctovison' may be damaged when it sees daylight at full aperture, considering that our cameras can photograph sunsets with no problems.

The Nocta is a night vision system so the amplifier would have too many light to amplify if it was used in daylight

True, but I remember using early video cameras around 1974-1975 where if you accidentally pointed the camera at an overhead light, it would burn the image of the light onto the tube and make it useless.

I expect that modern night vision equipment would be far more rugged.

They are great documents though. The introduction to light metering reads very well. It would be interesting to read the entire thing. Thanks for sharing them.

Blame my deteriorating vision. I first read the subject as SOME SCARS OF OLD PENTAX DOCS and I thought, "What, injured camera repair-persons?" I expected pictures of healed wounds from exploding lenses and drive motors, that sort of thing. But it's just documents. Whew!

That would have been almost as interesting as these documents are.

A very interesting discussion of SMC effectiveness vs. UV filters.

I used to use a Skylight/UV filter for high altitude aerial photography and the difference was noticeable vs. no filter. Now I wonder if the tint of the Skylight filter accounted for all of the difference I saw.
