Macros with Live-View

What are the best settings that you have had success with when taking live view macro shots?

The equipment I use include a tripod and a shutter release with my K-5 and DFA 100 Macro.

Just what you listed; Tripod, Remote shutter release, Live view, and zoom into 6-10x to confirm/tweak focus. That should give you predictable results every time.

As far as settings in camera? You should disable SR (because you have it on a tripod). Other than that, the rest depends on the scene and how you are trying to capture it.

In addition to what you listed, an off-camera flash with a diffuser can be very helpful.
