what types of pictures to have - subject wise

I'm curious if, any of you or if there is a general consensus, regarding a type of picture or picture of something that every photographer should have (taken)?

For instance, I've wanted to take a panoramas of a few different subjects and only have a couple of them, want a waterfall picture (still dont have one), have some moon shots, have some landscape/cityscape shots.

Hopefully, this is clear enough for most to understand and waiting to hear your responses! Thanks.

I am not sure that you will hear a consensus in the lines of your expectations. Many Pentaxians will tell you that you shoot what you like. Some are more into landscape, others into portraits, or street photograhy...

Simply you shoot what you like. Nobody should/can tell youi what you like.

Do not fall into stereo-types. Be yourself...

So there are no 'must haves', should the opportunity/chance arise? I would've thought there to be at least one or two...oh well more freedom for me then.

Only if you're a tourist at a place that you'll probably never visit again.

Self-portraits are a must. If you haven't shot self-portraits, you're not even up to baboon level.

Most people will tend to go through many of the 'cliche' scenes or techniques when they are starting out or at mid-level. It's really the only way to find out what you really like shooting.

I've done landscape, macro, still-life, panorama, waterdrops, and many other styles, and I've worked to portraiture as my main interest, with other styles as things come up.

Explore what interests you and don't be bothered if your interests don't align with other photographers.
