Need high speed B&W film advice.

I'm about to get a 645 and will be shooting a relative's concert gig next month. It's been awhile since I shot a concert on film. The lighting will be low and I'll probably be using the 150 f/3.5 lens. I'm estimating at least 1000 ISO. What are good choices in 120 format?

There aren't many choices in 120. Either you push process something like Ilford Delta 400 (push processing means that you shoot a film at a higher ISO and develop to compensate), or you shoot Ilford Delta 3200. You will get better shadow detail if you shoot the Ilford Delta 3200 at 1600 and get finer grain by shooting Delta 400 at 1600.

Or Delta 3200 at 800 to 1000 range... a little compressed, but works nicely...

There are not lots of options, but good luck a concert on 120 would be great fun... be sure to post results...

Yes shooting with my Nikon DSLR at ISO 1600 or 2500 and 50 1.8 would be more practical, but I want the challenge. After I run out of film, I'll shoot more with the Nikon. But this is my first MF, so I'm going to want to shoot everything I can with it! Just added Ilford 3200 to Adorama cart

In very low light I have had great luck with a two step developer... I used basically very week D-76 (3:1) for 2/3 the time inverting 10 secs every 3 mins and than a bath in Borax for the same amount of time with no agitation. I tend to use fairly warm water (about 72) but you could do the same thing with perhaps a 1:1 at 60 with finer grain. I stop (not that there is alot going on) and fix normally.

I think this is 3200 with PP'd colours painted in... the light was one small work light and a pen light... so far less than you will have on stage...

Although not 120 roll film I shot some delta 400 pushed to 3200. Had lots of fun with it.
