Lens Distortion in Portraiture

For conventional portraiture (typical studio), we are looking for a focal length that is 1.5-3 times the normal focal length for the format. In 35mm, the 85mm focal length ruled, in the new APS-C format, 55-60mm should be considered optimal. For myself, I like a slightly longer FL than that, in 35,, the 105mm lens was my go to, with Pentax digital format, the 70mm-77mm is where I am happy.

I use the DA* 50-135 for studio portraits, it is more versatile.

A try with DA 12-24 @ 19mm

Sigma 30mm
