Do you guys think that by fudging the numbers on the poll that somehow that will affect the sales of the various manufacturers?

I don't get it...
It all comes out in the wash ... They fudge , we fudge.

???

Now I'm even more confused.

They fudge , we fudge??

What if there IS no other fudging going on?

And even if you get the figures to 80% (or 99.9%) for Pentax, what does it accomplish?

Who cares if it is fudged or not and seriously there wasn't that many of us to fudge it it still required a fair number of people to put a vote in for Pentax (note that before this thread even started Pentax was in there at 3rd just behind Olympus). There is also an assumption that Pentax people are the only multiple voters.

But at the end of the day it was a bit of fun and we actually got to see Pentax in the number one spot. To answer Tom's question, yes I do believe it will affect some peoples buying decision and more importantly it may (and I emphasise may - before all the flaming starts) affect how Pentax is perceived by the media and even more importantly it may lead to 3rd party lens manufacturers noticing that Pentax has quite a following.

All these kind of "polls" accomplish is a demonstration of the organizational ability and enthusiasm of the respective online fans. This, for example, is why Ron Paul dominates all online presidential polls.

That makes us the most organized and enthusiastic online fans. (though we are real life fans as well, nay? )

it's from a cnet blog....and I reckon a lot of ppl read it. it might not accomplish something in the bigger scheme of things, but...hell if someone reads it, and see that pentax is in the 1 spot..they might actually look it up instead of just going w/ sony or oly, or the other usual suspects....

then..hell, maybe the author of the blog might follow up on it..(this was a follow up on a canon/nikon poll he had).....

it gets the ball rolling....the gears moving..whatever......

it's not an earth mover, but...every lil bit counts...

I wonder if Pentax will ever thank us for helping them, in any way we can.
I wonder if they even care...

Really Pentax should give us members here a 10% discount off of the new K20D...Or perhaps we could organize a group buy...Hmmm a GROUP BUY SOUNDS GOOD TO ME.
