Addison Texas in Feb. 2008

I'm not sure if this is the best place for this or not. But it looks like I will be going to Addison (Dallas) Texas from Feb 14th-17th. I was wondering if there is anything there that I should take my camera and take pictures of? The buying conference goes till the 16th but I have the ok to stay one more day if I would like. So does anyone know anything about this area? It looks like it is in Dallas to me.

South of the city is a park set up like an old Texas town, you'll have to look at a map for it's location. There's a JFK memorial downtown, nice city scape from Reunion Arena . Dallas it's self is sprawled out over a huge area.

Thanks Dana, yeah I saw on the map that Dallas takes up a bunch of space.

There are always places to shoot wherever you go.

The Fort Worth Stockyards are interesting, though if you're coming from Colorado, you may get enough of that. Dallas will have lots to see - Texas Schoolbook Depository and JFK memorial comes to mind.

My favorite place in Addison is the local airport..(big aviation fan). If you go to the south end of the runway they have a little park area with a rising hilltop, and landing planes pass literally right over you..its very cool and also offers a good all around view of a bridge and train tracks etc. You can park right on the southeast corner of the airport in a store lot and walk over to the hill area (short walk) Even if airplanes arent your thing its still pretty cool!

Hi Oceanic, I will be flying in and out of DFW. Is that the airport you are talking about?

And rfortson, I would love to shoot the stockyards. But I think the people sitting around me on the plane might not appreciate the lingering odor I might have.

Even though it is only a 3 hour flight.
