Such closeup adapters can be used on any lens that they'll fit. Popular adapters include those from Raynox which have 'universal' mounts fitting lenses with thread diameters from 52-67mm. Screw-in closeup adapters like the Nikon, Canon, Tamron and others can be used on lenses of their diameter, or smaller diameters using step rings. If your T5 is 62mm or greater, it will work with the DA18-250. There's a bit about such adapters here:

EDIT: I just double-checked diameters. I put a 55mm closeup glass on my DA18-250 with step rings and I see no vignetting. So if you have (or obtain) a Nikon or other glass with 55mm or larger diameter, those will work on the 18-250.
