C&C on website, if'n you don't mind

Hey there folks! Over the last little while I've been putting together a little Pentax website. It's not much, but I was wondering if I could get ya'lls opinion on it- what do you like about it, what's wrong with it, etc.

Thanks a bunch!

You have Ken Rockwell as a Pentax source of information? The guy who bitched about the *ist Ds without ever picking one up? The guy who bleeds N*kon (or C*non depending on the appendage). The guy who thinks Pentax is/has/will go out of busines?

I think not.

He's on the 'other' links, category, not the 'pentax links'

I think he reviewed the D200 that way aswell. Not my favorite reference point, sorry. Good for brightening up a dull day.

Sorry, I'm not fond of it

In my opinion you can't have a photography related web site without at least having a link to some of your own pictures.

Personally I could see having a main page, with branches going to your gallery, your link page, and a separate Pentax info page.

But I'm no expert, I just know what I like to see

On another topic, I just noticed your sig.
If you wrote to Mo, I'm pretty sure that he can change your name to whatever you want

Good advice, little laker. Don't want to be impersonating a certain blogger, now do I?

Well I just took a look at your gallery on here, and you have a few very nice photographs there, so it's an even bigger reason to show them on your site.

In my opinion this one is breathtaking.

And I think that it'd look great on your main page

Thanks, LL! I've added a Gallaries link to some quick-n-dirty galleries created via Aperture. I hope to eventually move all this to it's own dedicated server/domain, rather that being spread across googlepages and my ISP's space. I'll have to see if I can rearrange my main page now...

Thanks for all the input

Cannot return to main site from any gallery; except via browser back button which reverses all the images, one at a time until back at gallery index--slow!

Thanks, I'll have to figure out a way to get that to link back to my main page...

I myself would prefer if the home/index page matched the look & feel of the rest of the site; or visa versa.

Poor Jake, has already completely revised his site, and will probably have some more tweaks to do.

Jake, I hope that you don't mind.
I did a little work on your Utah Mountains page, you can view it here

All that I really did was add a link to your home page, and all the images open in a new window, so they're easy to close and no pressing Back

I used NVU for it, which is a free drop and drag program.

If you like it feel free to save it and use it for yourself

Thanks for the recommendation for NVU- hopefully with that I can get all my site off of googlepages and onto my ISP-provided site. I'm gonna mess around with the main gallery pages like you've done stu and see if I can keep the font and physical arrangment of the original Aperture page.
