I wish I knew who said/wrote that, I read it in a magazine in thw 1970's and it has stuck with me ever since.

I didnt really have anything original to bring, but oldies but goodies came to mind.

"Say cheese" (smile)

"Watch the birdie" (look at the camera)

Maybe these are uniquely Australian, I dont know.

I have a derivitave quote to share from this, while watching a show on Ovation named "Close Up: Photographers at Work", Albert Maysles made mention of Robert Capa advising a young photographer "get close, get close", saying "getting close doesn't necessarily mean so many feet away, but getting into the heart and mind of the person that you are photographing".
