Got a Roller Derby team nearby? Lots of opportunities to do pan shots there...

Roller derby would be a GREAT idea. But even a graduation event work:

If I posted correctly one of my many attempts at panning should show up here. I tossed a Cabbage Patch Kid (remember those?) in the air and tried to shoot it on the way back down. Not the easiest thing in the world I discovered (again). Oh well - I doubt any one else at camera Club will have a similar shot - so maybe I'll get some credit for originality!

Looks pretty cool, and not the easiest to shoot either if you had to hurl it into the air yourself then grab the shot. The neighbours might have thought it was a bit strange.

You should be fine unless of course there are any readheads with low self esteem in your camera club

The only way you could top that effort would be to fire it out of a Cannon! (that's cannon with 2 n's)
