Shooting with Natural Light?

After my mentor suggested the idea & I saw a couple of examples of shoots done with natural light and noting down 3 basic modification techniques (mainly diffusion reflection & absorption)

I was wondering if there were resources specifically dedicated to Natural Lighting techniques
They'd really help as I have a shoot the weekend after the next and I wanted to try it

Thanks man but I know there's a lot of books (i'm reading one right now! Light Science Magic and it has a section on that)

I'm talking about a SPECIALIZED book on natural light photography

Check out Sue Bryce's work. I don't know if she's done any books, but there should be plenty of stuff online.

Ansel Adams

There is always the master, AA.

Natural Light Photography. Copyright 1952. Book 4 of his Basic Photo set.

Obviously oriented toward B&W film and the zone system, but still the best book I've seen for natural light.

And of course, his famous image of Half Dome is between the fly and title pages!

Your question is ambiguous -
Do you want to capture the subtlety and nuance of natural light or are you trying to overcome the "limitations" of natural light?
It makes all the difference.

Good stuff guys, thanks a lot

Regarding the Ansel Adams book 4...that thing is almost in-existent!
Would've loved to have it though

There's a bunch of used ones at Amazon.com now. There are cheap first thru fourth editions hard cover and paperbacks.

I second this one. I've seen some of her videos and she does fantastic stuff with natural light.

She does look like it and lovely work as well

got her creative live "A Shoot with Sue Bryce" just now & watching it but DAMN that lady talks money A LOT
Should be fun though

Thanks for the tips, guys

EDIT!:

Sue Bryce does INDOOR/STUDIO natural light photography (Which is what i'll emulate outdoors)

If you wanted OUTDOORS natural light photography checkout Damien Lovegrove's work
absolutely inspirational!
