Pentax GPS hot shoe accessory

Has anyone used this for shooting star photos? How well does it work and is it a worthy addition to your arsenal?

The O-GPS1 is good for star photos (wide angle shots of the milky way) and can even do some basic deep sky photography (such as the Orion nebula at 100mm+). It's greatest strengths compared to other astrophotography solutions are portability and cost. The weakness is that it doesn't readily support advanced "stacking" processing because targets drift out of view; you have to keep manually reframing to stack many images.

You should be able to find examples in Astrophotography - PentaxForums.com and https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-k-5/143409-k-5-astrophotography.html. Those threads have photos taken with the O-GPS1 as well as with other astrophotography tools.
