Time Lapse Technique - Bulb Ramping

Interesting time lapse approach called bulb ramping.

Thanks for posting the link, i_o.

Sadly, like a booth babe at a trade show, the video was very nice to look at, but ultimately unhelpful. It should have been titled "An introduction to bulb ramping" not "tutorial." The "step by step" he covers is the obvious part of any time lapse ("set up your camera with the composition you desire!?"). The interesting bits, like how to calculate and set up a bulb ramp of shutter speeds for changing light conditions, are glossed over with "set the controller to Bulb Ramp mode," and "after a few times you'll get the hang of it!" Huh?

I'd like to know if the ramp is linear or can be graduated, or if there's more to it than just following the Promote instructions, etc. [EDIT: can't use Promote - it doesn't support Pentax]

I wondered about compability for Pentax as well. Seems like the Triggertrap is what you should look for as a pentaxian.
