Has anyone made intervalometer using Arduino or similar?

Hi

Just wondering whether anyone has tried making a intervalometer using an Arduino or Rasperberry Pi, or anything similar? I have heard people have tried them for Canon but not Pentax.

Thought it may be interesting to try, especially as the K-r and K-x etc don't have wired ports for shutter release/ intervalometer so using an infrared LED it could be an interesting project.

What are your thoughts?

It would be a lot less work to just combine one of the wired invervalometers with a Pentax compatible remote. Just make the intervalometer trigger the remote.

If you happen to already have a microcontroller, IR LEDs, maybe an LCD display and some buttons laying around, then that could be a viable option. It would still be a lot more work than just combining two off the shelf products.

Go to www.triggertrap.com.

Or better yet, use an Adroid or iOS based smartphone/tablet with the Triggertrap dongle (Triggertrap Mobile). Got an IR only Pentax body? There is an easy mod to an IR remote release to connect it to a Triggertrap dongle:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/do-yourself/186110-make-wired-release-any...ir-camera.html

You get multiple types of intervalometers, time, distance (using the phone's GPS), bulb ramping, plus multiple types of other event triggers (varies between Android and iOS).

I ran across this the other day. It is an ir lightning trigger using arduino. Nicely put together. I don't think it would be hard to add intervalometer capability.
