Dream kit:
My 4x5 monorail - with a Phase one D45 back. (I have a single lens now- that would change)
A helicopter to get me to those back woods sites.
Two or three assistances to do the heavy lifting.
The time and money to get it right.
Additionally, a 645D (as if) or H3.
A cooler of K25 for my Fuji's (yeah right).

For my Pentax stuff - maybe a f2.8 50-200mm if they ever make one.
I have all I need right now.

Edit:
Scratch the Pentax 645D - it is dead as I see it. I want this:
PHASE ONE 645 CAMERA PLATFORM
They will even assist you in finding a dealer to try it out - Pentax would never do this:

The Elitist - formerly known as PDL

You did say dream!

DREAM: I'm photo-driving a mountain road in the Suburban and I find struggling, smaller-town camera store. I ask a young counterman for assistance finding a (2x) SR44 battery pack (for my K2 - holding up camera). Young fellow takes one look at my tank and sneeringly sends me back to see "Skinny - he used to own this place."

Dream fast-forwards to Skinny telling the kid he has a city boy on the hook for all "that old film stuff that was still in back when you bought me out." Whispered conversation ensues. I hear, "Get whatever you think you can, but sell it all." Turns to me with a wink and says, "Follow me," to red, white and green parallax-disappearing shelves of stock.

Dream Kit:
  1. K [FF CMOS sensor] D
  2. NOS K2DMD
  3. NOS KX backup body
  4. NOS user copy of everything else in the entire 1975-77 Pentax catalog
  5. Mint-in-unopened-Box copy of everything in the entire 1975-77 Pentax catalog
  6. Tax-deductible-gift-to-museum copy of everything in the entire 1975-77 Pentax catalog
    1. tax savings from which finances entire purchase of "old film stuff."
REALITY: KX, K2, K10D, 3 FA Ltd's, whatever K glass I have now.

From a Canon user whos about to jump ship and swim towards the Isle of Pentax:

Pentax K20D

Pentax DA 21mm ltd
Pentax FA 43mm ltd
Pentax DA 70mm ltd

Pentax DA* 12-24mm f/4 SDM weathersealed (smaller/lighter than 16-50, I can dream right?)
Pentax DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 SDM
Pentax DA* 300mm f/4 SDM (or a F* 300mm f/4.5 which is lighter but white)

Pentax AF380 (like AF360 with swivel and keep it as small as possible)
Pentax AF540

If there is no sign of a DA* 12-24 f/4 SDM (or even 14-28mm) when i get the funds, I will probably buy a small DA 15mm ltd or the current 12-24 version and be happy with it.

When my Canon gear is sold I will start of with:
Pentax K20D
Pentax DA 21mm ltd
Pentax FA 43mm ltd (already have it)
Pentax DA 70mm ltd
Pentax DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 SDM

... so I am almost there

Ok, I am so old school here. My dream kit would be one of every focal length Super or SMC-Takumars, prime and zoom.

Although I can probably talk myself into "needing" almost anything, I'm pretty happy with what I've got at this point in time. My dream kit would be the addition of:

An MF camera with film and digital backs, and a few lenses
A high end film scanner like an Imacon
A bigger/better computer system
A large format printer (like an Epson 9880)
A Leica (film) and a few lenses
A work space to comfortably keep/use everything in
And as someone else said, someone carry it for me
And sometimes, someone to do the scanning, PP and printing, at my direction

And, a few additional years before the eyesight goes and the bones are too stiff to bend to frame the shot

Mine would have to include the K 28mm f3.5 Shift, that is until someone makes a 20mm or so tilt-shift compatible with aps-c.

I guess, what I would want is not made yet or at all. Everything I could want I have as far as Pentax goes. I just bought the 500mm F/4.5 for serious birding.
