The 2.5D Effect

This is out of my comfort zone when I comes to using some of this software, but I think it can add to making your pictures tell more of the story. And this technique is pretty friken sweet

Nothing new in this video - the guy is using very simple and very well known techniques used in 2d animation for many years - there are plenty of software that helps animating 2d shapes, photos or objects - with added 3d camera movement this can be achieved easily. The most work is probably in cutting out all the objects to be animated and then the actual animation of them. But that's down to the software and with support of skeletonization and bone based keyframing it is quite simple..still a lot of work tho. --manntax
