What say yee for this bokeh?

I went for a walk to my favorite tree in the back yard to see how the bloomings were coming. I saw this little pair growing low on the trunk.

VIV S1 28-90mm [f/5.6 1/250 at 90mm]

Very smooth indeed. I can barely make out the hexagonal shape.

I think I will take it again with the aperature at f8 to get more of the trunk in focus, I think it would pop a bit more.

I think you should change the shooting angle instead. Straight shot like this is hard to perceive depth.

I'll also have to do a comparison shot with the DA*50-135mm

I took another go at it with the VIV S1to get some pop and some tree in focus as well. Also taking aegisphan's tip on changing the angle. This one I processed.

That's exactly what I was going to say. And I do like your second one better, but there, the blur around the tree trunk is almost like a double shadow, which draws most of my attention.

Well it was a windy day, and that flower is about the size of a dime, if not smaller which would make that branch about the isze of a nickel. I don't know, maybe I am pushing the lens too far, its a pseudo macro lens, but I am truely impressed with the bokeh it produces.
