On my K10D, the AF button is right where my thumb finds it with a light roll to the left from the grip. No other nearby buttons at all. It sounds as if the K3 has it on a slight roll upward, which would suit me equally well.

I switched to BBF last year after reading about its usefulness with moving objects like birds flitting around or sports shooting, etc. it was very easy to learn and makes tremendous sense in my landscape photography to decouple focus and exposure lock. More,when I am shooting panos, I never have to worry about accidentally refocusing if I forget to turn off the AF lever.
