How to photograph giant sequoia tree

Here is a fascinating set of photos showing how a giant sequoia tree can be photographed, one part at a time, and then stitched together.

Wow…This 3200 Year Old Tree Is So Huge It’s Never Been Captured In A Single Image. Until Now. | Distractify

Stitching technology is really cool. Check out the Gigapan system, for example.

Notice the difference height of the guy standing at the top of the tree vs. the guy standing at the bottom?

Yep, I was thinking about it as well... I don't think is 100% to the right proportions - something seems off..
There is another smaller guy somewhere in the middle.

Pretty cool nonetheless...

wow, amazing looking tree.
I am also surprised at the apparent discrepancy in size between the bottom guy and the top guy...suggests something is wrong with the proportions.

Yeah, scale is way off. I'd argue the tree still has not been captured "in a single image" when it took 126 frames to shoot it.

Some one said that the guy at the top is standing closer to the camera, far out on a limb so that's why he appears larger. Perspective.

Look like it is leaning towards me with the odd perspective that has been used.
