How about: Ex pat Brits living in North America? Anyone wanna sign up.

Born and lived in Brighton, England for forty odd years, moved to Oakland, California five and a half years ago. Ihave a view of the Golden Gate bridge from my deck and so I'm saving for a Bigma so I can get a good shot of it rising up out of the fog at sunset.

Never mind, Essex doesn't really count anyway, that's where all the 'Blonde Girl' jokes started.

You're right my bad. I was thinking of Hounslow Green which is in Essex, I've been there but not Hounslow. My apologies to the person whose parents came from Hounslow and also to anyone else on the forums who comes from Hounslow.
Pschlute, I saw your pics in the gallery, Bill&Ben, aaah that brings back fond memories, I was an Andy Pandy kid myself. Shows are age doesn't it?

You try driving there. Driving a few miles seems like crossing Australia.

You caught me a generation too late as well. My father was from Edinburgh and most of my Summers as a child were spent in the Cotswolds near Banbury.

I didn't mean that I'm living with a Pentax (I don't even know what the word for that would be), well I am kind of living with a Pentax but not in the biblical sense. We're just good friends really. Oh never mind.

A good friend of mine was from Banbury. Looks like I AM the only first generation Brit.
Just for the hell of it: Opening this up to people with parents who were ex pat Brits.

No, actually, like most of the ancestors of Aussies today, one was smart enough to leave England, after his ancestors came from Ireland, for somewhere better, and the other had never been to the UK in his life.

Don't worry, every now and then I pay homage to the English by going out and getting sunburnt - takes me a while, though . But I'm a Republican at heart.
