slipping on monopod base

I hope someone can suggest something to help me out here. My husband got me a mono-pod a few weeks back and I love it. But the camera comes loose on the base. The screw loosens and I am afraid the camera will fall off. I have tried putting some foam rubber between the base and the camera and it has helped a little bit but the camera is still coming loose. Anyone have some suggestions? Thanks much

Hi Rosemary,
Did your husband buy it locally? If so you could maybe take your camera in and try it on another monopod that is the same model. Could be that the screw in the top of the monopod is loose in it's housing which would make it impossible to tighten your camera onto it enough to stay secure.
