I don't mind luminance noise so much. Chroma noise bugs me though fortunately its much easier to smooth chroma noise without losing detail.

As for digital vs film. They both look bad in very unique ways. I'm not sure I'd say I like one over the other though.

I have to side with JMBdigital and JJJphoto. Many people go over the top and expect absolutely speckless pics at ISO 1600 or 3200. Sure K20D may be pretty close to pull it off but as for me. I love the beauty of old BW noisy shots (or those digitals that have been processed in that way). I think it's insane. Sure sport photographers are right to demand "clean" high ISO shots. But noise can be nice, sometimes even beautifull...
