that guy is always good for a laugh and the list is really for entertainment, not an actual 10-commandments to being a better photographer...obviously. Good stuff.

Exactly, watch them as entertainment, entertainment that is in some ways vaguely about photography, more than say watching the Tonight Show".

Most photographers that shoot Homeless people are just starting out. I have quite a few of those shots myself when my eyes were still good and I could focus with my manual camera from 30 feet away. You never know that old homeless guy might get mad and decide to break you and your camera if you get too close. Nudes not sure why people shoot them ? well then again I do, you get a chance to see a naked girl without having to take her out 10 or 20 times.(just watch out for that BF lurking behind the bushes).
Clouds, I had an assignment where all I had to do is shoot clouds. Unfortunately the clouds were not cooperating. I spent 2 weeks looking at clear blue skies it was so frustrating. Monuments, I lived in Washington DC and had plenty of opportunities, but after visiting the local souvenir shops I decided not too. Buttery waterfalls, I have been in photography for 25 years and don't have one single picture with a buttery waterfall, which means I'm not a real photographer yet...

I don't know about this guy, he plays with a Barbie doll on his desk.
I can think of far more worrying things people can play with while sitting at their desks.

These guys are fun and I share many of their complaints. I emphatically agree about blurred water! Water is lovely--it sparkles and dances. Why anyone would want to make it look like a stream of snot is beyond me.
Yes, the cotton wool water affects me negatively as well, closely followed by shallow depth of fields for their own sake. Recently there was a picture here that was 95% out of focus!!!?

I for one, can't stand looking at photos with CORNERS (four corners, for example). Nobody sees the world that way so why?

Too bad I love scanning my negatives with key lines. I can't really say why, though. As for other cliches, well... I don't believe in 'dos and don'ts' when it comes to photography. It always depends on what the photographer want do capture, be it a sunset, clouds etc.
