Our seats were up pretty high so the angle was different than what I'm used to when shooting on the sideline of High School games. Still got some good shots when cropped. I also took some with the Tamron 1.4 TC added. Here are some favorite shots:

If Tom Herman was still our OC, Ohio State would have won another Championship this year. It was great to watch his new team. I thought his offense was ours, it turns out we just rented it.

Andre, your beautiful action pics reminded me I need to plan some equestrian shooting this year because the latest equestrian photos I have are 7+ years old.
Attaching one sample taken in 2008 with memorable K100D (with Sigma APO 70-300 attached). What a camera that was!

I was impressed with the offense and defense. Houston held Cook to something like 34 yards. I was hoping that Herman would be South Carolina's new coach.

Having been a surfer myself this looks like great winter time surf in water so cold you could not unzip your own wetsuit.

Had a bit of fun with this combo at the end of the season. (Fast combo with good light.)

Hopefully something a little different, K-x with the 18-55 kit lense, can't remember much else about it!

That's a nice image!
I need to get out sailing with my friend who is an avid sailor. I was even envisioning something like this with backlit sails. Cool shot.

Motard event with an K5 and DA*300/4

This is a series of images captured at a Super Moto (motard) event staged in Newcastle NSW, Australia about a year ago.

For any locals reading this thread the event will be run in September this year, the details can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/newcastlecitysupermoto/ and here: http://newcastlesupermoto.com.au/

When I was living in Newcastle this event was ideal to capture as I love my motorcycle racing and it was being held about 20mins walk from home. Indeed there were some very good spots to view the event for free, including where I captured the below images from. There were better positions but the one I chose gave me good light and was close enough to capture good detail. The problem with the prime of course is the inability to go a bit wider, but this is what I had to use as the 50-135 was generally too wide for the type of image I was chasing. And to be honest, the DA* 300 is a bloody good lens, even when shot wide open.

The images were imported using Lightroom with most of the PP done in On1 Photosuite.

Image capture details: Drive mode: Tv Shutter: 1/500s ISO: 100 Aperture: f4.5

Image capture details: Drive mode: Tv Shutter: 1/640s ISO: 200 Aperture: f6.3

A few from this past Friday night's football game. All with the K3 and a Sigma 70-200 shot at f 2.8.

Football already?

Getting back into the swing of taking football pictures. Glad they had a couple scrimmages since I need practice as much as they do.

These were taken using the DA*200 on a K5iis
