Any members have an idea what happened here?

I was out on my deck one night fooling around taking hand held shots of the moon in quick succession. I took twelve shots altogether and something strange happened in the middle of the sequence. I am posting shots 4,5,6,7 and 8 here, 6&7 show the strange occurrence. Can someone explain what happened please?
Thanks, Gary

The camera's position was shifted slightly multiple times. Don't know about the green unless you played with white balance or PP.

All shots were shot in quick succession one after the other, nothing changed except my positioning, my hands moved maybe inches.
All shots were: Exposure - 2 secs, ISO - 400, 0 EV, FL - 300mm.

Gary, I used Mac MetaShow to look at your EXIF data for your #4 and #6 shots. The EXIF data showed the following difference, which I think might account for the "colorful" rendition of #6 (and, I'll bet, #7, too):

#4: White Balance Mode : Unknown (8)
#6: White Balance Mode : Preset (Fireworks?)

The White Balance, in both cases, is set to Auto. So, the WB Mode difference appears to be what caused the difference in color rendition.

I'm guessing that taking the photos in Auto capture mode led the K10D's computer to evaluate the slow shutter and the light pattern created by shooting the moon handheld as "fireworks" in some shots, but not in others. Sound plausible?

Thanks Christine, that sounds perfectly plausible. Certainly more plausible than my initial thought, at the time of taking the shots, that it was a UFO flying in front of the moon (we were having a party that night and I had had a few drinks).
Thanks for taking the trouble to look.

Pentax DSLRs don't have the smartest white balance around.

Hmm...maybe you were extremely lucky and caught the infamous "Green Cheese" and "Cheddar Cheese" phases of the moon?

If its not a WB issue, perhaps one or more color channels clipped shifting the color.
