Flashing ! ( No raincoat needed )

There I was going through my parts box , and I had enough parts for another Macro Flash rig !
After putting it together , I thought hmmm
Loos like there are parts for another flash rig , and here it is .
The flat bar rig ! Just a dual mount flat bar , cheap bounce flash (?) , and one of my Triggers from the parts box and cable ..

Just another way of doing it ...
Good thing about the flat bar is its adjustability , should take car of almost any size lens ..

Nice setup. I use a wooden stick the same way as your flat bar, with a small aluminum plate at each end. That gives the advantage of tilting the flash downwards. I like the thin trigger cable, mine is a Nissin TTL hotshoe extension that has a thick, heavy, curly cable. The wired wireless trigger :-) looks much better.

Thank you , just trying to fire up folks imaginations !
As the most important thing about macro is light ... And the no1 light source besides the sun would be a flash , any flash ...

The one thing I keep harping on , is Macro does not need to be expensive ..

You could always add a flash shoe mini-ballhead with a tripod/stand cold shoe adapter for added flexibility.

Great idea! I was looking into ways to position the flash a little further out of the camera, glad I found your post thanks for sharing

I often do something like that, but handholding the flash and using either a remote trigger or PTTL. I prefer it to straight light.
