Hey everyone,

I've been curious as to how my 50mm f/4 S-M-C Macro-Takumar would fare against the Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/3.5 and my Fuji 60mm f/2.4. I wrote a bit about it on my site:

This isn't an Imatest discussion, I'm more into the pictures from each. So no brick walls or test charts, but there are some flowers.

From my conclusion:

For the nostalgic, 40+ year old lenses competing with an excellent modern one speaks volumes for their overall value. The Macro-Takumar and Micro-Nikkor can easily last another 40+ years with the same result.

I'v never had disappointing results with the SMC 50 Macro, particularly for nature work . I'm not at all surprised it held its own against the modern glass!

And...sigh...it would look so freakin' awesome in anodized silver!

I had no chance to work with the SMC 500/4 Macro,
but my D FA 50 Macro is one of my favorite. I use it also as a "standard" lens.
