Had to send my K10D to pentax on middle of last week

and I got it back yesterday! 8)


...less than a week turnaround.

Pentax Pro Service KICKS!!! 8)

and they sent it back with a black body cap instead of that clearish white one...

It's nice when professionalism rears its head, isn't it? Score on the body cap! (A real bayonet one, I assume?)

I also had a turnaround of one week when I sent my K10D for repairs. Knocked my socks off!!!

First two times i sent mine in, to time was about 2 weeks,

I just sent it back, so we will see.

I have time and time again recommended the Pentax Pro Service to people. It is more responsive than that of Canon (no experience with Nikon, so) and being Free of Charge, it's a damn bargain to boot!

WOW

How do you get service like that?!
I sent in my BG-2 grip for repair on May 20th (it stopped powering the camera when the only battery available was in the grip) and Pentax signed for receiving the pkg on the 22nd. Its been 2 1/2 weeks now and the only information im getting from the pentax website - when its working - is that the repair is "In Service". Hopefully it will be coming back to me soon.

You didn't send yours to Pentax, so.. you can bang that head again.

FINALLY got the grip back today...with a message stating that nothing was found wrong with it.



After re-attaching the grip and putting the battery in the grip, the camera again fails to power on. With the battery in the body, the camera powers on, and the grip functions normally.

Ran through a series of tests with the Pentax rep over the phone, and now both the grip and the K10 are on their way BACK to Pentax for service. I hope to God the turn around time is a bit faster this time. Again, how do I get the Pro Service speed?

You have to request the application packet which can be found in the press tick sheet on their website i mentioned above.

then you have to fill it out and return it.

you need to make at least 51% of your income from photography to be a member.


...my application is still pending, but I made a couple of calls and got it pushed to pro service.
