Curious, who did not get a K20 and why?

I did not and really for 2 reasons. 1. I want more glass. 2. To afford glass could not get new body. Kind of the same answer I know. Another one honestly is I really like the K10. Would I turn down a K20 if the price fell to $750.00 just maybe. My issue (god I hate to say it) is noise. I have no proof nor do I want to start a debate. But I think the next model will be far superior in handling high ISO noise. I figure I can wait. Hell, my K10 will be new if it ever comes back . So again the only question I am looking for is why did you not get the K20?

Ps. GO CELTICS!!!

I went with the K200D because i'm broke...lol but mostly because i preferred the AA alternative as i'm using this as a "travel" camera. Some places i'm planning to go to won't have electricity and heck no toilet paper dam i don't think they have toilets

I am happy with the results I get from my K10D. I don't like the inability to turn off long exposure noise reduction on the K20D, but I really like the results I see from the k20D. Biggest reason I don't have one? $$$$ - my lack thereof.

I just bought a K10 in December, so it'll be a while before I get another body. Had i not had to make a trip to the emergency room Friday morning ( kidney stone, ugh !! ) I was going to use my tax rebate check to buy an upgrade to my kit lens, but that's gonna have to wait.

One Model Behind

I bought the K10D for 649.00 after it had been out for a year.
I'll buy the K20D when Pentax introduces the next model and the stampede begins.
The K20D is already 999.00 Here in Canada at ProDigital, and that's where I got my K10D. But I'm still months away from getting one.
I like the K10D more now that it's back from Pentax Canada.
Not so crazy about the ISO over 800, but I don't use it all that often.
I'm not really Brand Loyal, but you have to love the feel of K series Cameras.
Da*n, they feel solid.

I didn't get the K20 for a couple of reasons.
1. They weren't out when I was looking for a new body, and the K10 was gone from the shelves in Canada.

And #2 shall not be mentioned, but it involves another brand.

I'm perfectly happy with my decision, I now have 2 very good systems. And love shooting them both

I have posted this many many times, but for me, the K20 does not do enough differently from the K10 to change.

Now, if it had both TTL and P-TTL and better metering on manual lenses, as well as what else it has, I might just go for it and retire my *istD, and put the K10D to back up, but until then. I'll pass on it.

Still piddling around with the K100D. It meets all my needs, although the viewfinder is not parallel (level) with the sensor :-(

Was marginally tempted with the K10D when they were $500, but I saw no advantage other than MP with a possible loss of low-light/high ISO performance.

Now, with significantly larger files/storage requirements, I'm not convinced the K20D has enough features > I would use < to make it worthwhile at this time.

Maybe when it is not the new guy on the block...

I bought K10D in last week of April after doing more research than what I'm doin for my Dissertation! ..

I didnt buy K20D coz it wasnt available in India (It still isnt!)..Also, All I wanted in my Digital cam were good noise performance till ISO 400, A minimum 10MP sensor (not for huge prints but for more cropping)..Built in Image stabilization worth atleast 3 stops compatible with a monopod, good availability of used lenses...

I'm a kind of person who still wears his School shirt, 6 years after schooling, just because I like it..Now we r talking a SEMI PRO DSLR..

I'll buy another DSLR only if, God forbid, I loose my K10D..OR i earn enough money through Photography to buy one..Even then, I'll prefer buying a wide to normal 2.8 zoom n a 70-200/2.8 n use my Film SLR Z50p......

Being a retiree, I couldn't afford the K20D and the deal I made with my wife was that I could spend the approximate amount I had saved on not smoking for a year. So I ended up with the K100D Super. I almost bought the K200D but Wolf didn't have it in the store and it would have been a day or two to get it from the warehouse. Maybe next year I'll go for the K200D but for now, I'm quite happy.

I have no real reason , other than the obvious (have a K10D and an istD ) I look at the price weekly usually, it is comming down. There are days I think I want it , others days not so much. I try and do as I do with most of my computers - I genreally skip a generation and try and stay a level under bleeding edge , this is the economical , logical approach - however at times I am an impulse buyer (well impulse afer exchuastive reseach , confirming it is a good product, then spend days, weeks. months , sometimes years before just buying it !). Hoping to hold out till fall see what the price is there - or as you can see in the Marketplace here - K10D's going for less than half their value when first released not sure I have that kind of patience haha

Easy: I broke the bank with LBA in 2005 and 2006 - three FA* lenses (around $5500), plus several other nice ones.

I do like the loaner K20D for low light wildlife shooting that I'm using right now though... but it has to go back too...
