Pentax on the flickr chart

I love flickr toy from BHL. I was playing around when I saw this.. k10d on 26th and k100d down there around 60s... We gotta take about 6 bazzillion more picture to get to #1!!!

The other guys own the P&S market so we can't make it to the top, ever never! You won't find Pentax P&S in the mass retailer stores (Best Buy, Target, etc.) so forget it!

I think that our time would be better spent getting photos accepted for print in the magazines such as Shutter Bug, Outdoor Photography, PopPhoto, etc.

How is the apple iphone better then the K100D, let alone right behind the K10D.

It's sheer volume. Apple has sold millions of these units and the biggest photo tool these days is a cell phone. I heard the numbers this spring and it's scary how many people use a cell as their primary camera. Plus lots of kids are using only these for all their sharing shots.

I can get away with saying this because this is a Pentax forum...

The reason those other cameras are so far ahead is that one needs to take 2 or 3 shots to get one good shot with those other cameras.

I'd rather see more Pentax in National Geographic than flickr, which is the collective cesspool of any and all PITCHERS (to use Benjamin's term).

That's not to say that some aren't actually good pictures.

I just wish piscasa present picture in a nicer template.. like flickr or smugmug. I recently become a big fan of smug.. what do you guys like? Redbubble.com is another one. Flickr is def overated now :P

Yet another reason...

I believe more Pentax shooters are relatively serious about their photography and also tend to be tech savvy. Flickr is fraught with danger to your intellectual property (aka your photos) due to their Creative Commons licensing scheme. It is also the target of numerous photo mining research efforts including...

a thread about Carnegie Mellon mining Flickr and a thread about Photosynth.

We also tend to post our photos in more serious and high-end photo websites and forums (such as PF!
