Ah...she's taken, sadly. C'est amour, c'est la femme, c'est la vie...c'est merde.
But, shag me if we don't hit up the New Farm Deli, and shag me if she don't have excellent taste in espresso - no milk drinks after 10:30, doppio all the way, same as me, she chased hers with a San Pellegrino Chinotto, I with San Pellegrino mineral water.
And shag me if she doesn't pull out a Japanese K1000, SMC-M f2 on the front...and an Oly OM1, with a Zuiko f1.4 fifty. Probably about $500 bucks worth of classic gear, and without her knowing anything about it. The OM's out of commission until we can rig a battery replacement for 625's it takes (am gonna rig one that delivers the right voltage, too.)
Sarah's a nice girl, a Daught of the Northern Coast, as
Australian Crawl once sung, beautiful country. A spark of anarchy in her, like opal in potch; I made the mistake of turning up with a copy of the
Sunday Mail, she reads
The Australian. The Mail's got better crosswords, and Calvin & Hobbes (Bill Watterson is a true genius of the 20th century.)
Was good. Was fun. Was, as they say, a rich, full day. And MRRiley was right.
Gonna bug her about firing off a few frames. She's got a few on her P&S digicam, and they're pretty damn good, as far as I could tell from the one-inch screen.
