Capturing Fall colors

We're off to a cabin in the woods for the next few days. Any last minute tips of getting good shots of the Fall colors?

I suggest close-ups in addition to landscapes.
Best wishes.

Take a tripod, hope for no wind, early morning is often calmer. Waterproof hiking shoes may help since you may need to go off trail for the best views.. A Circular Polarizer can help bring the colors out. Maybe a flash for somesituations. Have fun!

Of course, RamseyBuckeye offers excellent advice. You might also consider using creative blur (slow shutter speed with or without zooming) for some of your images.
Also, yesterday I saw a photographer's excellent double exposure in which river water was combined with a tree image.

...all good suggestions. Also think about panos (max 120°) made with 3 to 4 frames in portrait format - with no polariser! Fall colours can be breathtaking rendered like that.

These are good suggestions but also, keep shooting if it gets cloudy or even rainy. The diffuse light from these conditions add softness and mood to color shots of leaves.

Biggest things are to use low iso and a polarizing filter. A tripod does come in handy for early morning shots where the light isn't great.

Nice attempt....
I think next time though you dont have to overexpose the sky as much. The K-1 has massive shadow recovery at base ISO.
Perhaps shoot raw, expose for the sky using +1 exposure compensation, and pull up the trees in post processing.

I find under exposing by up to a couple stops can help later in PP, like in this.
